Since 1780 the Monterey General Store has been providing food, dry goods and services to the residents of Monterey and the surrounding towns. This long and valued tradition provides a great foundation for moving ahead in the upcoming years. Come and join us:
  • For coffee (Green Mountain in the pot or beans to take home) and fresh baked pastries in the morning.
  • For delicious lunches: homemade sandwiches, soups, fresh salads, quick meals and desserts - eat here in our revamped cafe area, or on the deck, or take away.
  • From noon to 2 pm on Saturdays, we offer an outdoor barbecue featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausages and ribs basted with Kenn's secret, subtly spicy, chipotle-infused sauce.
  • Check out our wine and beer selections, including beers from local small brew masters and wines for all occasions.  Watch this space for news of occasional wine tastings.
  • Sample our new cheeses (Monterey's Rawson Brook Goat Cheese featured) and cracker selections along with fresh baked breads and pies. Kenn is baking a round white Italian and an organic whole wheat daily.
  • Fresh Meats- All the best sliced meats and cheeses are available for your special sandwiches also steaks, chickens and the best seasoned rack of lamb you'll ever cook at home.
  • Greeting cards, many created by local artists.
  • Framed photos, drawings and paintings are available for sale.
  • Coffee mugs with the Monterey General Store logo. T-shirts, sweat shirts, bags and back packs proudly displaying "Monterey".
  • All the usual groceries and dairy products are also available. Please let us know if there is something you would like us to carry that we are not carrying now.

PS - we have added two community pages to the web site - one for  news & pictures, the other for links to Monterey-based businesses and other organizations. Email Pam Johnson, the web designer if you'd like to add a link to your web site.
